So what is The
BIG Switch Off?
Put in simple terms, BT are moving over to a completely internet-based telephony network in the UK on the 31st of January 2027 – this means all traditional PSTN services including analogue and ISDN lines in the UK will be turned off forever, and nearly 150 years after Alexander Graham Bell first demonstrated the telephone to Queen Victoria, we will enter a new era of fully Internet based modern telecommunications.

What does this mean for your business?
Internet Connectivity services such as ADSL and fibre to the cabinet that rely on analogue technology will cease to work, as will other services such as lift lines, fax lines, EPOS machine lines, alarm lines and in fact all home phone lines in the UK will be switched off forever, ready for the new generation of communication.
