The History of ITC Service

From modest beginnings in the back of a workshop in Washington, ITC Service began its journey with determination and a clear vision. During this time, we steadily built a reputation for delivering exceptional, client-focused IT support.  

As word spread across the North East, our consistent reliability and personalised approach attracted a growing and diverse client base. Year after year, the team expanded, driven by a commitment to excellence and a passion for helping businesses thrive through technology. 

The company’s ethos has always been central to its growth – providing a transparent, dependable service without the techy jargon.

2006 - 2010
The early years
Established in Feb 2006 ITC Service was formed by Christopher Potts and Peter Anderson. Both had a shared background in IT with ITC Service born form a want to assist other SMEs with their IT requirements, with a focus on delivering a reliable, high-quality service across the region. From our humble first office (a small section of a client’s office in Hutton Close, - with QFSL remaining a client to this day) our space was small but it allowed us to employ 3 staff – an account manager, an engineer and an admin assistant – with two of the original three team members still with us now, 19 years later.

2010 - 2017
Needing more space
By 2010 we realised we needed to find somewhere to call our own head office, taking us to Swan Road, in Washington. This gave us an ideal base for accessing locations across the North East, allowing us to maintain our delivery of efficient and rapid service to our clients. From our new base, our team grew steadily and we were able to explore apprenticeships from 2015. Our apprenticeship programme grew across multiple disciplines, and by 2016 our notoriously 'cosy’ office was just too small.

2017 - 2019
A Bright Future
2017 saw our team relocate to our current head office in Monkton Business Park, in Hebburn. This gave us the space we needed to grow as well as providing a base which was easy to commute to, had ample parking and transport links, and kept us close to many of our clients.

Passionate About Sustainability
In 2023, we underwent a huge office refurbishment including a full building refurbishment alongside a 43KW solar panel installation. Our sustainability efforts were supported by our switch to an entirely electric fleet of vehicles alongside the development of our remote services. We were thrilled to be recognised by Invest South Tyneside when they awarded us their ‘Sustainability Champion’ award.

Primed for growth
In November 2024 we were thrilled to receive a £7 million investment from BGF, one of the largest and most experienced growth capital investors in the UK and Ireland. This investment marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for ITC Service. With the backing of BGF, we’re positioned to scale even further - both by continuing to grow organically and by acquiring complementary providers in neighbouring regions.
