Merry Christmas!
ITC Service’s Cyber Christmas
Our mission throughout December is to give back, to our clients, and our local community. With Scams being rife during the holiday period, it’s important to us that we share crucial information that could make the difference in someone being compromised. Rather than spreading the message ourselves, our valued clients are keen to get the word out.

Freeze Out Phishing
If an email makes you hesitate, don’t touch it. Verify first!
Patch Before You Relax
Updates aren’t optional, they’re your first line of defence. Get everything patched before the holidays.
MFA: Your Secret Santa
Turn on Multi-Factor Authentication everywhere. It stops the vast majority of account breaches.
Lock Down Remote Access
Disable any remote access tools you don’t need. Tighten the ones you do.
Review Admin Accounts
Fewer admins = fewer ways in. Make sure only the right people have elevated access. (or if you ask an IT provider, no one!)
Secure the Inbox
Use email filtering, Time-of-Click Protection, and anti-phishing policies. Don’t give attackers an easy route.

Backups Belong on the Nice List
Test your backups. A backup you haven’t tested is just a hope, not a plan.
Strengthen Device Security
Encrypt laptops, enforce screen locks, and require strong passwords. A lost device is could be a data leak.
Keep an Eye on Cloud Permissions
Keep Microsoft 365 tight: least privilege only. Anything extra is a risk you don’t need.
Train Staff Before the Break
A quick refresher on spotting scams will prevent Christmas-day incident calls.
Monitor for Odd Behaviour
Set alerts for unusual logins, file access, or new inbox rules. Attackers love quiet periods.
Have an Incident Plan Ready
If something goes wrong, know who to call and what to do. Preparation beats panic every time.
